The 2007 convention of the Penn Central Railroad Historical Society was held at the Sleep Inn/Main Stay Suites hotel in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Friday afternoon featured a tour of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg. Group photos were taken with PRR E44 electric locomotive 4465 and Penn Central H34A covered hopper 32367, restored to how it appeared in company sand service.
Saturday's tour was of Amtrak's Wilmington Maintenance Facility in Wilmington, Delaware. Our tour guides were Michael Burshtin, Director System Engineering, and John Wood, Superintendent of the Wilmington Locomotive Shop. At the conclusion of the tour, a group photograph was taken with Amtrak SW1 737. This locomotive was built as NYC 703, and at the time was the last SW1 switcher on Amtrak’s roster.
