The 2018 PCRRHS Convention was held in Cleveland, Ohio, on September 20-22.

Highlights of the convention included a tour of Charter Steel, a mill with an electric melt shop that produces carbon and alloy steel wire products located in nearby Cuyahoga Heights; a tour Norfolk Southern's Macedonia Car Shop, located next to Motor Yard in Macedonia, with special guest visitor NS 1073, the Penn Central "heritage unit”; and a visit to the Midwest Railway Preservation Society’s roundhouse in downtown Cleveland. After the banquet on Saturday night, Greg Comstock, Northern Region General Manager for Norfolk Southern, spoke about his railroad career, which started on the Penn Central.
